AYA’s 30th Year Anniversary National Meeting
Florence, Italy

November 2–7, 2011 at the Hotel Michelangelo

We are pleased to announce next year’s meeting destination will be in Florence, Italy. Florence, the capital city of Tuscany, is considered the birthplace of Italian Renaissance, Europe’s richest cultural period, and is the art capital of Italy, filled with palaces, chapels, galleries and museums.

Attendees will be staying at the beautiful Hotel Michelangelo, which is just steps away from the main historical sights, including the famous Duomo Cathedral (built in 1296) and the Piazza di San Giovanni. In the Cathedral Square stands the Baptistery, with its renowned “Gates of Paradise” doors, and where the Giotto Bell Tower stands. Close by is the most famous museum in Florence, the Uffizi Museum Gallery which houses works by Botticelli, Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo, and the Ponte Vecchio (Old Bridge) where you can buy the renowned Florentine jewelry.

Florence truly is a magical city, with its medieval streets and striking squares, full of unexpected delights just waiting to be discovered by you! “Breathtaking” is the only word to describe one’s first view of Michelangelo’s statue of David.

To qualify for this amazing trip to Italy, new Local Coordinators (hired after August 1, 2010) must place 4 students by August 1, 2011.
