| EARN SCHOLARSHIPS TO CONTINUE YOUR FAMILY'S ENRICHING INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE
AYA Host Families can earn scholarships for high school study or travel abroad: college or travel vouchers, high school programs. One
of the advantages of hosting or enrolling an AYA student is access to
the AIFS family of programs. AIFS offers a world of study abroad opportunities
open to high school, pre-college and college students. In addition,
AIFS's sister organization, the American Council for International Studies
(ACIS), offers short-term travel programs for students, teachers and
adults. AYA host families and high schools can redeem scholarships toward
any of the AIFS or ACIS study or travel abroad programs described here.
Your teen can, in turn, spend a rewarding semester abroad.
THE AIFS College Division offers vast opportunities for students interested in earning college credit (granted at the discretion of the home college). Students live in dormitories or with host families while they study in an international environment. Looks great on a college resume!
AMERICAN COUNCIL FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDIES - ACIS specializes in teacher-organized trips abroad. Open to students, teachers and adults, these nine to 42 -day trips to Europe, Asia and Australia offer insight into international cultures and are especially appropriate for first-timers abroad. ACIS Summer Advantage offers summer campus-based and adventure travel programs for high school students.
Students under 18 years of age participating on a travel program with ACIS must travel with an adult chaperone, except on ACIS Summer Advantage programs. Students may sign up independently on programs 28 days or longer in length and ACIS will assign a chaperone to them. If a student under 18 wishes to travel on an ACIS travel program is less than 28 days in length, he/she is responsible for finding his/her own chaperone. For further information or for an ACIS catalog, call 1-800-888-2247 or visit the ACIS website. Follow the links above to learn more about these AIFS programs. Please note these terms and conditions. For further information, call (800) 322-4678 and ask for our Program Development & Benefits Coordinator. Host family description | How to become a host family | grants for high schools About
